Job Description:
Tectonic is currently seeking a full time Staff Level Civil Telecommunications Engineer and a Senior Level Civil Engineer with Telecommunications experience to work within our Irvine, CA Office.

Senior Engineer:

Essential functions of this position include overseeing the work of engineering and technical staff, acting as responsible charge PE for plans and documents, reviewing project data, budget P/L, scheduling, and performing investigations to analyze new site builds and existing site modifications and upgrades. Essential functions also include preparing plans for zoning and construction documents, analyzing wireless telecommunication cell sites and layouts, generating and approving engineering reports and plans, performing site visits to gather required information, and all other related duties as required.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

3-5 years of related experience in wireless telecommunications design (wireless carrier antenna facilities) including a minimum 2 years experience working in California is required;
Valid CA Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire;
Experience in plan preparation for zoning and construction documents, with a working knowledge in the design of rooftops, colocations, and new tower sites of wireless telecommunications facilities;
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or similar; MS Degree is a plus;
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required;
Exceptional computer skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD 2014 and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to utilize good sense and sound judgment in practical matters;
Ability to work efficiently, adapt easily, and be detail oriented, as accuracy is essential;
A valid drivers license and personal vehicle;
Experience in successfully meeting budgets and schedules.


Staff Level Engineer:

The essential functions of this position include working collaboratively on various telecommunications projects with engineers, construction teams, and designers to assist in the process of providing high quality deliverables to our clients. The employee will work on the design, inspection, and coordination of all phases of civil/site development, including new site builds, site layouts, and site modifications and upgrades on telecommunications projects. Additional functions include generating required engineering reports for review, performing site visits to gather data and perform site walks and inspections, reviewing drawings and calculations, and all other duties as required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years of related experience in wireless telecommunications design (wireless carrier antenna facilities);
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or similar; EIT and/or MS Degree is a plus;
Knowledge of zoning and construction documents and familiarity with the design of rooftops, colocations, and new tower sites of wireless telecommunications facilities;
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required;
Exceptional computer skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD 2014 and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to utilize good sense and sound judgment in practical matters;
Ability to work efficiently, adapt easily, and be detail oriented, as accuracy is essential;
A valid drivers license and personal vehicle.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is often required to assume a stationary position, and regularly perform tasks that require the handling, inspection, and/or feeling of documents, materials, and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. Occasionally, the employee will need to move around on the job-site, sometimes while lifting and/or moving equipment up to 25 lbs and/or in hazardous weather conditions. The employee must be able to safely operate a motor-vehicle, in which they may be required to remain stationary for a prolonged period of time. They must be able to receive and convey detailed or important information with others using the Corporate e-mail system, telephone system, and conferencing systems.
