LS Technologies currently has an opening for a National Air Space (NAS) Telecommunications Support Engineer. This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) National Airspace Security and Enterprise Operations (NASEO) Directorate Executive Team. The NEO Directorate is one of seven Technical Operations Service units that collectively and collaboratively provide safe and efficient flight services through responsive and cost-effective maintenance of the NAS facilities, systems, and equipment. Required experience for this position includes:
• Must have advanced technical knowledge of FAA NAS telecommunications operations and services and how those services interact with other Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Services • Must be able to establish and document processes related to Telecommunications operations management. The focus will be on supporting the NASEO Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Enterprise Network Services (FENS) Transition Team. Additional duties include, but are not limited to; • Ability to analyze and evaluate various high availability telecommunications network architectures. • Be able to assess the effectiveness of different telecommunications access and transport designs. • Have broad based Information Technology (IT) experience with both legacy technologies and modern communications technologies including Carrier Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) routing, Multi-Protocol Label Switch (MPLS), wireless Long-Term Evolution (LTE), microwave and satellite communications. • Experience with telecommunications network transitions including transition gateway design and implementation in a multi-provider scenario. • General knowledge of security and cloud-based technologies and an understanding of Network Management and Operations and Security Management and Operations including network design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance is preferred. • Provide support to NASEO FENS Transition Team as directed
Requirements: • Must be an independent, innovative and highly self-motivated individual. Must work well in a team environment • Must be able to communicate clearly orally, verbally in writing in English. • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in required field of study: Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Telecommunications is required. • Prefer Master's degree in the above referenced field of study. • 15+ Years minimum related experience.
