In this role, the selected candidate will drive the strategy and implementation of all marketing programs, initiatives, market research, and projects that support short and long term marketing objectives for the Small Firm business. These market-leading solutions include the ATX™ and TaxWise® tax preparation software, the award-winning CCH iFirm practice management suite, the Client Accounting Suite and the Trust US™ solution.The Director Segment Marketing will be responsible for the strategy, planning, development and execution of a segmented marketingprogram - and leading a team that is responsible for transforming the future of this market leading software company by discovering new and unique market insights, identifying meaningful new customer segments, working with product and sales professionals to deliver our message of value in the ways that resonate most strongly with customers and prospects.  This role will drive the strategy and implementation of all marketingprograms, initiatives, market research, and projects that support short and long term marketing objectives for the Small Firm business.The ideal candidate will have a track record of using a broad range of market research, voice-of-customer methodologies to find unique market insights that can translate into competitive advantage or go-to-market superiority – and using those insights to build and execute a winning marketing strategy.  This role sits at the critical intersection of strategic thinking, market sensing, and program execution and will pay a critical part in driving market share increases, revenue growth, and go-to-market for new products and services.This role reports to the EVP & General Manager of the Small Firm business and sits as the marketing lead on the Small Firm executive leadership team.  Accountabilities include the leadership and delivery of marketing results and driving action plans that deliver on marketing targets, including lead generation, thought leadership, market penetration, new product adoption, cross-sell/upsell targets. You will be responsible for partnering with Sales, Product Management to collaborate and execute “go-to-market” strategies for the software and solutions for the U.S. small firm market.Position may require up to 30% travel. Occasional travel to corporate offices or otherlocations for meetings. Domestic travel to industry conferences or customer planning meetings, etc.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Product Marketing responsibility for all products in the Small Firm customer segment including Positioning, Buying Experience, development and refinement of segment strategies and buyer personas, development and execution of three-yearmarketing strategies and annual marketing plansSupport key business growth workflows including customer acquisition, retention/renewal, program effectiveness & marketing ROI, lead generation, thought leadership & social mediaprograms, sales support & selling tools, digitalmarketing, events and othermarketingchannels and programs as required by various go-to-market strategies.Develop TAA-Small Firm Segment Marketing Goals & Objectives while aligning to Product Strategy.Lead and manage a U.S. Small Firm marketing team and oversee the development and execution of tactical and strategic marketing plans (including pricing, product and promotion plans as well as market & competitive research and other Voice-of-customer initiatives) for the entire software and solutions within the small firm market segment. Ensure marketing strategy aligns with annual business plans across product lines within the small firm market.Collaboration with the divisional and North American marketing organizations to effectively plan and execute on corporate, divisional and North American marketing & brand strategies and coordinate marketing spend across divisional groupsProvide product information and expertise in assisting the Divisional Marketing Communications groups with media relations for news stories, product reviews, press releases, etc.Partner with customer support organizations to understand the customer experience across multiple touchpoints and inform product and support roadmaps & programs accordingly. Develop relationships with potential business partners, channel partners, customers and professional associations in coordination with other leadership team members.Thorough understanding of financial concepts including revenue projections, costing, budgeting, etc.Work directly with clients to determine market need and incorporating these individual and holistic customer needs to achieve optimum business results.Create and execute annual business and product plans.Advanced interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work and lead cross-functionally and develop strong relationships with internal and external constituents.Excellent facilitation skills and ability to influence, driving for collaboration, not necessarily consensus.Must be well-organized; candidate must show evidence of successfully implemented strategies and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and remain focused.Excellent written and verbal communication skills including participating in external media and customer events, preparing and presenting complex information to senior management and/or large groups.Ability to lead a complex organization and implement change with success in coaching and mentoring high performing teams.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.8 or more years of successful leadership experience in marketing, product marketing.Experience driving customer acquisition growth through digitalmarketingchannels, as well as direct selling channels.Experiencemarketing to small-business markets and segments is highly preferred. 3-5years of direct management experience.Ability to work and interact with C level executives.Strong strategic thinking skills; experience should include demonstrated ability to develop innovative and effective strategies; ability to prioritize and focus on projects, initiatives and objectives that truly deliver impact on the businessA successful track record in leadership positions in which the organization exceeded business objectives and growth targets.Demonstrates entrepreneurial instincts.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated agile decision-making ability based upon analysisSelf-motivated and able to work independently.Business-oriented.Excellent listening skills.Ability to work an extended schedule as needed to meet objectives.Preferred Qualifications:MBA preferredPreferred workingexperiencein one or more of these areas:Tax and accounting industryFinancial Services, corporate market and/or software and information services industriesPragmatic Marketing Certification preferredAbout Wolters KluwerWolters Kluwer N.V.
