Job Description:
In this role, the selected candidate must have an experience selling specialty chemicals (surfactants, polymers, and esters) into the plasticizer, lubricant additives, paint additives, and adhesives / sealants markets. Sales Manager – Chemicals - North Carolina or The Woodlands, TXMajor chemical manufacturer of Specialty and performance chemicals is looking for a dedicated and talented Sales Manager to join the team.Manage the sales development process from consultation to commercializationSell consultatively, detailing products, determine customer needs and requirements, and make recommendations to both prospects and existing customers of the various solutions company can offer their businessBuild long-term relationships with an existing customer base by understanding their key business drivers, and selling new chemistriesExecute appropriate sales strategy based on customer and technical specifics Grow sales in assigned market segments Lead and educate other sales staff on company product offeringsOvernight travel approximately 20% of workDevelop sales strategies and customer specific requirements Create financial and technical documents for customer proposalsBe team oriented and thrive working in a fast-paced environmentWork collaboratively with R&D and Production leadership for total customer satisfactionRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical EngineeringSeven years’ technical sales experience in the chemical industry Demonstrated expertise leading new products through customer technical trials Business Development experience for a variety of chemical productsStrong technical and analytical skillsStrong grasp of marketing, sales, and business development conceptsMust be a motivated, self-starter, with strong networking and communication skillsAbility to take a consultative sales approach with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills The ideal candidate would also have the following:Ten years’ technical sales experience in the chemical industry Experience selling specialty chemicals (surfactants, polymers, and esters) into the plasticizer, lubricant additives, paint additives, and adhesives / sealants markets.  Some oil field experience would certainly be a plus. Proven sales performance record with established customer base Some formulation experience preferredMBA or related graduate business degreeMust now be a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident
