Job Description:
In this role, the selected candidate will develop quick turnaround point solutions to both internal and external customers including tasks similar, but not limited to implementing geospatial solutions, data parsing and transformation, pattern detection based searching of multiple file types, preparing and manipulating data, and data verification. OST is successful because we listen to our clients, we learn from our clients, and we know our clients.Description of specific Duties in a typical workday for this position:Develop quick turnaround point solutions to both internal and external customers including tasks similar, but not limited to implementing geospatial solutions, data parsing and transformation, pattern detection based searching of multiple file types, preparing and manipulating data, and data verification.Adapt to real world evolving data formats on an extremely condensed timeline.Builds new software in small standalone applications written in VB.NET, C#, XAML, and embedded macros created in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Provide design and implementation of an open modeling environment using requirements solicited from various stakeholders throughout the organization. The developer shall work as part of a team of government and contract personnel developing software in C++ and C# with parallel and distributed processing utilizing Visual Studio 2010.Analyze customer requirements and implement solutions to include, but is not limited to, creating new solutions, adding on to existing applications, creating new interfaces, fixing bugs in existing applications, creating new or updating plug-ins, creating specialized macros, etc. to meet customer needs.Write high performance distributed code for new and existing algorithms using literature, examples, pseudo code, or other code in scripted and interpreted languages.Responsible for the entire scope and lifecycle of the assigned product line, software application, or service to include, but is not limited to, design and architecture, installation, configuration, documentation, user communication and coordination, integration, troubleshooting, testing, security and compliance, the underlying infrastructure (i.e. networking, storage, server dependencies and requirements), as well as adherence and participation in all lifecycle and configuration management processes.Provide performance tuning, log analysis, and backup and recovery processes.Develop monitoring and automation services that integrate with data management architecture.  Implement automated remediation of services based upon failed monitoring checks, if possible.Provide first-line customer support for troubleshooting and user assistance.  Training, assistance and written job aids shall be provided to end users.Clearly document requirements, specifications, and processes.Clearly communicate ideas and resolutions to customers in a timely manner.Position Requirements:MUSTBS in Computer Science or Engineering and 6years of experience OR 10years non-academic software development experience3years  of experience .NET 3.5+ Framework in last 8years1year of experienceprogramming with VB .NET or C# and C++1years of experience utilizing version control tools and Visual Studio1year of experience integrating with ArcGis1year of experience with packaging and installing applicationsMust meet Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II certification requirements (typically the Security+ CS certification)Strong knowledge of database concepts, specifically with MS SQL ServerStrong knowledge of IT security conceptsExperience with Agile DevOps including operations and development engineers participating together in the entire service lifecycle, from design, Test Driven Development (TDD), build and test automation, release configuration, is preferred.Active TS/SCI Clearance
