Conducts safety job site audits that align with and support safe working conditions. Assists in the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s comprehensive safety and health programs.
Duties include the following (but are not limited to): Serves as a model for safe work behaviors and demonstrates safety leadership and commitment. Conducts job site safety audits and facility safety inspections. Conducts incident investigations, documents and makes recommendations for prevention of similar incidents. Conducts field drug and alcohol testing in compliance with company policy and applicable regulations. Develops and conducts safety training classes for all departments. Training topics will include but are not limited to; certification for fall protection and tower climbing, OSHA 10, CPR/AED/First Aid, and Defensive Driving along with proper operation of fleet vehicles. Ensures and monitors training effectiveness through review of audit reports or feedback from Safety Manager, Human Resources, company leaders, and employees. Generates or suggests alternatives and improvements for safety programs and procedures. Develops, implements, and maintains databases for tracking training and safety related information.

-Ability to interpret and apply OSHA, NFPA, DOT, ANSI, and MSHA standards and regulations and train OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour course for construction or general industry. -Maintains confidentiality. -To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in PowerPoint, desktop publishing software, Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Must have: -Valid Driver's license. -Good Driving Record – 3-5 years. -Fall Protection Certification and/or willingness and ability to become climbing certified to 300 feet; 275 pounds maximum weight to meet gear requirements. -OSHA Training Experience/certification. -Comply with DOT physical requirements. Preference given to the following qualifications: -ComTrain, SPRAT/IRATA instructor certification. -OSHA 500 and 501 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months from hire. Other Skills and Abilities: -Ability to travel 25% - 45% of time and be away from home for extended periods of time. -Organized, detail-oriented. -MSHA Trainer Certified a plus.
Education/Training/Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent combination of education/training and work experience in a related safety field.
