In the role of Site Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating venues for in-building wireless projects. This will include reviewing venue floorplans/layouts and creating assessments in preparation of technical site visits for solution design and constructability considerations. You will assist in driving new business with prospective and existing customers by working closely with sales, technical and project management teams. Duties and Responsibilities • Experience with DAS and In-Building solution architectures including traditional passive antenna and low-power active access point solutions with a focus on venue layouts, constructability considerations, cabling requirements, space requirements, power requirements and overall solution layout. • An expert in reviewing detailed floorplans to accurately identify venue size/area, telecom rooms/IDF locations, required mobile coverage areas, non-required coverage areas, and overall assessment of the venue layout. • Publish a comprehensive Venue Assessment Summary that includes the total venue size, floor-by-floor targeted coverage areas, floor-by-floor telecom spaces/IDFs, vertical cable risers, and nearby mobile towers. Identify possible challenges and solution options for consideration. • Lead venue site visits with design and construction partners using the published Venue Assessment Summary to document actual venue characteristics, available telecom spaces, Head-End space, IDFs, risers, confirm coverage areas, confirm non-coverage areas, and solution constructability considerations. • Publish a comprehensive Site Visit Summary documenting the actual venue characteristics identified during the site visit including pictures, diagrams, floor plan markups, and notations to be used by solution designers. • Review iBwave designs with solution designers to ensure compliance with Site Visit Summary requirements. • Develop processes and workflows that allow us to build and scale a best-in-class technical pre-sales and technical operations organization. • Develop and deliver training and educational assistance to new employees, new partners, and new customers.
• College degree required. Engineering or Technical degree preferred, or relevant experience. • 10+ years of relevant experience, specifically in the mobile telecommunications industry with a focus on in-building deployment of traditional DAS, low-power digital Access Point DAS, and small cell solutions. Experience should include a combination of venue assessment, solution architecture, and installation. • Experience with Autodesk (DWG) and PDF floorplan formats using available tools for accurate scaling and measurements, and reviewing iBwave designs. • Expert in assembling detailed reports in PowerPoint and Adobe with high quality images from the above applications. • Strong knowledge and differences of vendor solution architectures such as CommScope, Corning, JMA Wireless and Solid Technologies. • Experience working across interdisciplinary teams. • Excellent communication and oral presentation skills • High level of US Travel required for site visits – 50-75% of time. • Location of role is flexible.
