|TelForce Group is looking for a Voice Engineer in the Evansville, IN area.
This position is responsible for design, optimization, engineering support, and documentation for the entire voice service network, including equipment maintenance, upgrades, translations, capacity planning, grooms as well as developing new features and product enhancements. Also provides training and documentation to employees regarding new equipment being deployed. Works under general supervision, possesses and demonstrates intermediate-to-advanced knowledge and proficiency required to perform assigned job functions and responsibilities, may require training and detailed instructions for assigned tasks as necessary.
Voice Engineer Description:
Responsible for design and engineering of equipment additions to the network and migration of services from one platform to another. This includes being involved in and providing technical support to consultants and vendors in the planning and engineering of current and new voice service technology.
A major part of this role is the management and coordination of third-party vendor support to facilitate seamless service introductions, manage vendors for all complex bug reporting through the application of patches and upgrades, and to maintain and optimize on-going operations in a cost effective manner.
Perform analysis of call volumes and trends to determine appropriate equipment provisioning and making recommendations concerning capacity (ERLANG Principles). Work closely with the Network Analyst team, assisting with projects for network grooming, reduction, and redesign based on cost analysis or capacity implications.
Responsible for reviewing network equipment engineering notices about available hardware revisions and software patches, installing appropriate patches, documentation and communication of such patches. Ensure voice network equipment is maintained at supported revisions levels.
Review and maintain and update complex translations. Included are entries necessary to update changes in the North American Numbering Plan, routing changes required by access carriers, CPR, adding and deleting access carriers, and database changes required to add new features.
Researches and assesses available network telephony technologies in relation to the company's current and future needs.
Provide point of escalation for repair (Tier 3 Support), training and guidance to less experienced team members on base and core functions of platform.
Create and deliver technology training to developing staff
Create and maintain all levels of documentation for environment.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary. Serves as a member of committees or special studies as necessary and participates in the “on-call” rotation.

Voice Engineer Qualifications:
• Strong working knowledge of VoIP protocols (such as SIP) & related TDM telephony technologies (such as ISDN & PRI).
• Telecommunications service provider installation, maintenance or engineering experience with legacy TDM switches and next generation softswitch platforms, with specific experience in the areas of complex translations, switch and traffic engineering.
• Working knowledge of SS7, CNAM/LIDB, LERG and 911 are a must.
• MetaSwitch* Experience (UMG, CFS, EAS, SIP Provisioning Server, SAS, MetaView)
• ACMEPacket SBC, perimeta
• Ability to work with SS7, ISUP, SIGTRAN, TCAP, AIN, SIP, T1, T3, and SONET.
• Adtran Voice Gateway Experience
• Service creation and design validation
• Operational Documentation and records management
• Visual Basic, scripting and other forms of automation expertise desired.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Desireable
• SIP School Certified Associate (SSCA) Desireable
• Requires 5-10 years related experience.
