Job Description:
In this role, the selected candidate will provide advanced technical support to field installation/repair technicians on data products for business customers with CenturyLink contracts. DescriptionProvide advanced technical support to field installation/repair technicians on data products for business customers with CenturyLink contracts.Troubleshoot and resolve complex data network issuesProvide high-level technical & engineering support, troubleshooting, and service restoration with an understanding of switching and routing as it would affect voice trouble.Includes data infrastructure design, installation and maintenance for new and current installations in line with customer’s goals and requirements.Provide primary engineering design and configuration for data systems.  Evaluate new technical requirements for compatibility with deployed system designEvaluate new products for compatibility and applicability to the network.Maintain current knowledge base regarding complex routing, switching, and security design and configuration.Provide high-level off-hours support on a rotating basis with other engineersDevelop and oversee subordinate level technical methods, procedures, and assist with complex technical solution designs.  Develop & document process flows.Monitor and analyze performance across the organization's network and underlying LANs, WANs, IPT, and wireless deployments.Identify capacity and performance issues for communications traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of communications systems.Conduct testing of disaster recovery plans as it pertains to communication equipment to detect faults, and minimize malfunctions.Create and maintain network documentation and reports as requiredAct as liaison between the customer and othernetwork vendors on high-level support issues.Provide direct interface with other CenturyLink departments in support of customer networksBasic Requirements:Subject Matter Expert in the area of Network Routing/Switching, Wireless and SecuritySubject Matter Expert in Layer 2 & 3 switch, router, firewalls, LWAPs configuration and managementNetwork Certifications and/or equivalent experience such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCISExpert level isolation of IP and telecom network outage causes and service restorations.  Three years experience minimum in this area. This position has direct customer interaction and requires expert customer service skills.Must possess proficient Personal Computer (PC) skills using MS Office applicationsMust possess proficient presentation skills to audiences that are technical and non-technical.  Must be able to translate technical terms and concepts to non-technical entities.Maintain a valid state operator’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with applicable laws.Highly self motivated and directed.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Strong communication (oral and written), customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skillsExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.Must be available24/7 foron-call rotation,networkoutages and maintenance window work.Preferred Requirements:Bachelor’s of Science or equivalent experience in technology or business-related field plus 6years experience. Advanced Network Certifications such as Cisco CCIE or Juniper JNCIP/JNCIEExperience and proven track record with Project ManagementITIL Certification at Foundational or greater level
