*To be considered for this job, you must apply for this position on our company website at www.kub.org.* About the Role The position is in a team-oriented environment, with primary responsibility for the design, configuration, enhancement, and troubleshooting of KUB’s fiber to the home (FTTH) network. The positions primary focus will be to develop routing strategies, automation, and the implementation of technologies that will support KUB’s carrier grade network to deliver reliable phone, television, and internet service to our customers. Daily activities will include managing network devices, servers, and other supporting infrastructure. The position requires working stand-by, working after hours/weekends, and on-call duties.
Minimum Requirements ● High school diploma or equivalent ● Familiarity with most commands/utilities for networking tool sets ● Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and time management skills ● Ability to independently manage projects requiring system integration, networking, and solutions design ● Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements Sedentary work/field work; exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and can bend, stoop, and lift. Sedentary work involves sitting in normal office conditions, but does involve standing or walking outside periodically for inspections, problem resolutions, etc. Must be able to climb steps and work from ladders in a combination of office and field environments. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and / or exceed those demands described above.
Preferred Requirements ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience ● Experience with telecommunication networks, carrier grade routing, VOIP, streaming video services ● Experience with network security approaches & designs, ACLs, and Firewalls ● Knowledge of network protocols, BGP, MPLS, VRF, VLAN, DNS, and DHCP ● Ability to setup VLANs, VRRP configurations, SAPs, router & switch configurations ● Knowledge of Nokia Service Routing and/or IP MPLS networks in a carrier grade environment ● Experience with system administration, Radius, Carrier-grade NAT, XGS-PON / PON networks *To be considered for this job, you must apply for this position on our company website at www.kub.org.* |
