HOURS OF WORK: 4/10's, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-Th
The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong technical skills associated with routine to complex installation and/or maintenance activities on optical and ethernet transport equipment, network cabling, negative 48VDC battery power plants, and OSP Cable splicing & restoration; proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex network problems/trouble tickets involving inside/outside plant fiber, DC power, network transport systems, spread spectrum narrowband and broadband links, and associated equipment using industry standard test equipment and procedures.
The ideal candidate will so be adept in learning new technologies that are continually being added to the network to meet the needs of the customer base.
INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.
Training and Experience: A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is three years of journey-level experience in the construction, assembly, troubleshooting, testing and repair of a wide variety of electronic communications systems, equipment, devices and facilities; or successful completion of a two-year program in electronics at a recognized college or trade school, plus one year of closely related experience; or completion of a military electronics technician course of 24 weeks or longer, plus one year of closely related experience.
