KFN is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team who possesses a passion for problem solving, innovation, and intelligent solutions. In this position, you will help design, install and maintain high bandwidth solutions for our carrier and government, enterprise, education and medical customers throughout the region.
Responsibilities: • Provision services on SONET, DWDM, and MPLS networks • Provision services for Direct Internet Access • Perform testing and turn-up of new services • Ensure accuracy of service and network documentation • Maintain network integrity • Monitor network alarms • Perform network and service restoration in a timely manner and provide root cause analysis • Develop Method of Procedures (MOP) for maintenance activities • Execute MOPs during maintenance windows (00:01 to 05:00) • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation • Conduct proof of concept and software validation in the KFN lab

Qualifications: • Associates or Technical Degree in Telecommunications, Networking, Computer Science or related field • A minimum of 3 years industry work experience • IP and subnetting experience • Layer 2 networking experience • Experience in fault isolation in complex networks • CCNA certification desired • Previous NOC experience with break-fix responsibilities a plus • Knowledge of full suite of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) • US resident with authorization to work for any employer without visa sponsorship now or in the future • Willingness to work in our Wichita, KS office - remote work is not available • Valid Driver's License
