Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Regional Tower Manager will be responsible for supervising the Tower Climber/Technician teams that are executing the preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair of Dish’s 5G network within a geographical region. The Tower Manager will oversee multiple Tower Technician crews that will travel to tower sites and perform work at both ground and tower top locations.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
Oversee Tower Technician Crews that are completing the following tasks:
Maintain, and repair equipment within the Dish 5G network within a given region
Perform equipment upgrades as applicable
Complete work on towers at heights of up to 500 feet
Ensure safety practices are constantly adhered to
Interface with Network operations and Construction operation teams
Interface with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) contacts
Directly advise and influence decisions of Crew Leads and Cellular Tower Technicians in all aspects of tower maintenance
Act as safety observer and Quality Assurance representative while at the site, ensuring compliance with company safety program and related workmanship practices
Maintain proper use of company vehicles, credit cards, and other assigned assets
Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a site tracking tool with complete accuracy
Reinforce quality and safety standards, updates and ensuring those updates hit the field
Develop new processes and procedures to streamline job site procedures and documentation
Read and understand construction drawings and other applicable diagrams
Up to 60-80% travel may be required
May work evenings and weekends as needed
Skills - Experience and Requirements
Successful Regional Tower Managers have the following:
5-10 years of experience in the Wireless Telecommunications Tower industry with the capacity to understand and manage multiple projects, multiple customers and personnel
3-5 years of multi-site Operations Management experience managing multiple Supervisors and crews remotely
Previous Tower Climber experience preferred but not required
Experience working on communication towers up to 500 feet high
Strong communications skills with a polished ability to communicate both formally and informally with multiple, distinct audiences, including internal teams, senior management, customers, contractors, and external resources.
Demonstrate knowledge of cell site design, foundation design, grounding, fencing and tower erection
Experience working with Microsoft Office
Strong safety focus while performing work at heights or on the ground
Ability to respond in an “on-call” capacity to respond to network outages
Commitment to excellence and high standards
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to lift 80 lbs. regularly and up to 125 lbs. as needed
Ability to pass a pre-employment screen (Drug, Background, Driving)
Ability to maintain industry certifications i.e. CPR/First Aid, AED, RF Radiation Safety and Awareness, Competent Climber Certifications, OSHA 30, OSHA 10
Experience working with database platforms and site tracking tools (Preferred)
Experience tower climbing up to 500 feet high (Preferred)
