General Description of Position: Provides ArcMap, CAD, GPS, and design support services to TRC Companies, specifically the Communications Engineering group in San Antonio, Texas.
Essential Functions of Position: Primary duties include: The selected candidate will provide ArcMap support services to several different individuals and departments in a fast-paced consulting environment. The Systems Integrator will be expected to learn and become part of the design teams for many facets of the communications industry. This may include the use of AutoCAD or MicroStation to perform and complete some design projects. The creation and manipulation of enterprise geodatabases would be a plus but not requirement.
Specific tasks include but are not limited to: • Use ArcMap extension to create fiber optic connectivity records • Design fiber networks including Fiber To The home (FTTH) networks • Production of base maps for use during field surveys • GPS data processing • Field GPS data collection (this is a plus but not a requirement) • Production of figures for resource reports • Production of large format display maps • Query geographic data for information to be used in reports/proposals • General geographic data creation and analysis • Support other design teams utilizing AutoCAD or MicroStation • Creating and managing an enterprise geodatabase (this is a plus but not a requirement) • Working with clients to reconcile geodatabase (this is a plus but not a requirement)
Position Requirements: 1. Minimum of 2 to 5 years of ArcMap experience or 1 year ArcMap experience and some design experience. 2. BA/BS from an accredited college or university in GIS, cartography, geography, or related field is desirable. 3. Strong working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS products such as ArcMap. 4. Experience with GPS or GPS/GIS data collection 5. Working knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation cad software 6. Working knowledge of creating and managing an enterprise geodatabase (this is a plus but not a requirement)
